The King's Musicians, c.1857
Designed by William Butterfield (1814-1900). Made by William Henry O'Connor (?).
From the church of All Saints, Margaret Street, London.
The Agnus Dei window, from which this panel comes, was blocked up c.1910 when an organ was installed in front of it. The glass was removed and as much of it as possible was re-sited in the Baptistry.
All Saints, Margaret Street, was the great masterpiece of architect William Butterfield. He closely supervised every aspect of the decoration of his buildings and imposed his own distinctive style on all the artists with whom he worked.

Inv. No. 1998/3/2 Lent by the Diocese of London.
