Designed and made by Paul San Casciani (b.1935).
The descendant of an Italian master cabinet-maker. Paul San Casciani trained at the James Powell Stained Glass Studio (Whitefriars Glass). He is well-known as an author and teacher of stained glass.
This Panel was especially designed to illustrate the many techniques of the craft, including acid-etching, tracing and water spotted matts, double plating, copper foiling and traditional leading, opalescent, applique and fused glass. The design is based upon an electron photomicrograph of hydra tissue.
