The Archangels Michael and Gabriel, c.1926
Designed by Arthur Anselm Orr
(1868-1949). Maker unknown.

From Rockley Chapel, near Marlborough, Wilts.
Arthur Orr trained at the Royal College of Art in the 1890s, and became a prolific designer for a number of firms, including Reuben Bennett, Walter Pearce and Arthur J. Dix. It is possible that Dix was the maker of this window, which commemorates the dead of the Great War. The panels below St Michael depict the devastated landscape of the Western Front.
Inv. No. 1974/2/1&2 Presented by the Church Commissioners.
