Designed and made by Benjamin Finn (b.1964).
The image is derived from the Old Testament book of Isaiah who foretold the birth of Christ. It is in the iconographic style of the Eastern Orthodox Church. Benjamin Finn has used the luminosity of the Byzantine icon here and in a number of his early works in glass.
His most recent commission is for the new Library Extension of Southwark Cathedral, the subject of a grant-funded competition by the Stained Glass Museum on behalf of the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation.
